Spain Law Meeting Point

Spanish law follows the continental system or civil law system.  The legal system  is supported principally by written law in the broad sense (laws and regulations) and to a lesser extent by judicial decisions and customs.

Even though Spain is not a federal country, it is one of the most decentralized countries in Europe. Therefore, the Spanish legal system is a complex one, in which various autonomous community laws and regulations coexists with the national law.
